Sod Lawns
SOD LAWNS
Sod Lawn Installation
Sod lawns can be the way to go. Almost instantly after a yard is sodded, the owner’s lawn is a mature two and a half-year-old lawn. This lawn was fertilized, cut, de-weeded, and watered. The lawn has the thickest part of the roots attached.
Like every other service Unique provides, prep is absolutely key. They rockhound the land and then hand-rake the surface. Top soil is added on top of the existing land; we then rake the new soil to a fine, even finish. The team fertilizes the ground and lays out the sod. The Unique team is sure to outline the yard so that the sod lines up without gaps. The crew staggers the seams. After all the sod has been laid, the crew fills in all small gaps so that the lawn is smooth. After two weeks, no one will be able to tell that it was a sod lawn.
Most model homes have sodded lawns; many new homes opt for sod lawns. The only additional service that is a must for new sod is irrigation. The sod needs to be watered frequently after installation.
